Inter’s treble-winning coach Jose Mourinho has risked irking fans of the club after revealing that he wouldn’t hesitate in taking on a job at a rival team.

The Portuguese tactician enjoyed an illustrious two-year stint with the Nerazzurri from 2008 to 2010 in which he followed up a Serie A title in 2009 with a treble the following season, lifting the club’s most recent Scudetto and Champions League.

Mourinho is out of work after being dismissed by Premier League club Tottenham Hotspur last month, and in an interview published in today’s newspaper edition of The Times, revealed that he would have no qualms about coaching one of Inter’s rivals.

“With Inter I won everything and there is special affection. But if one day I went back to Italy and coached a rival club, I wouldn’t think twice about it,” the 58-year-old declared.

“I have this professional way of looking at things and I feel good about myself.”

Mourinho departed Inter after winning the Champions League in 2010, joining Real Madrid before returning to former club Chelsea.

The ex-Porto coach has remained in the Premier League since his departure from Real Madrid, with stints at Manchester United and Tottenham since being sacked by Chelsea in 2015.
