Inter coach Antonio Conte has rewarded his squad with a day off after they defeated Crotone 2-0 yesterday to close in on the Scudetto.
The Nerazzurri condemned their opponents to relegation but moved to within a point of the title, as second half goals from Christian Eriksen and Achraf Hakimi earned victory at the Stadio Ezio Scida.
As reported in today’s newspaper edition of La Gazzetta dello Sport, the players flew back to Milan from Calabria this morning and were given the rest of the day off, with training set to resume from tomorrow.
Focus during the week will be on preparing for a home match against Sampdoria on Saturday, with Inter only requiring a point against the Blucerchiati to mathematically guarantee a first Scudetto since 2010.
However, Conte’s side could already have win the league by that point, with all attention on Atalanta’s match against Sassuolo this afternoon. Should La Dea fail to pick up all three points, Inter will be crowned champions.
