Inter maintained their phenomenal defensive record as they defeated Crotone 2-0 in Serie A yesterday, recording a 14th clean sheet of the season.

The victory put the Nerazzurri on the verge of the Scudetto and they are just a single point away from being champions, but could officially secure the title today, should Atalanta fail to beat Sassuolo.

As reported by FCInterNews.it, the success of Antonio Conte’s side has been built on a granite defensive unit, with Inter preventing opponents from breaking through in 14 of their 34 games this term, matching their record across the whole campaign last season.

Inter also enjoy the best defensive record in the top flight and have only conceded 29 goals, one less than Juventus despite playing a game more than the Bianconeri. The next best record is held by Napoli, who have conceded 37 in 33 matches this season.

Conte’s side have also been prolific in attack and have scored 74 goals, bettered only by Atalanta’s 78.
