The turnaround in fortunes of Inter midfielder Christian Eriksen has now seen the Denmark international become a vital component in their charge towards the Scudetto.

Eriksen joined Inter from Tottenham Hotspur in January 2020 and endured a difficult first 12 months in Italy, prompting suggestions that he could be sold in the most recent transfer window.

However, as highlighted in today’s newspaper edition of Corriere dello Sport, he has enjoyed a renaissance since the midway point of the season and fired Inter to the brink of the title yesterday, netting the opener in a 2-0 win over Crotone.

The newspaper highlighted how the goal that could clinch the title came from a player who was a “mysterious figure” for much of the season, but is now a protagonist in Antonio Conte’s side.

Inter can secure the title today and end Juventus’ nine-year dominance, should Atalanta fail to beat Sassuolo this afternoon. Failing that, the Nerazzurri will be crowned champions with a point against Sampdoria next Saturday.
