Inter President Steven Zhang delivered a message of gratitude after witnessing the club secure a first Scudetto since 2010.

The Nerazzurri were crowned Serie A champions today after Atalanta were held to a 1-1 draw against Sassuolo, ensuring that Inter were mathematically guaranteed top spot in the table.

In an interview with ANSA, Zhang addressed employees of the club, from players to staff, whilst also delivering a message of thanks to Inter supporters around the world.

“It is an exciting moment, special for all the people involved in this project and who have been with us on this journey. Thanks first of all to the fans, to all the stakeholders, to those who work with us and of course to our coach Antonio Conte. Also to the players who have worked hard to achieve this result,” Zhang declared.

The Suning representative also took the opportunity to express his gratitude to Inter staff and various directorial figures who had assisted him in his leadership of the club since assuming the Presidency in 2016.

“I also want to thank all the Inter employees and the management, the two CEOs who supported me not only this year but also in the previous five.

“All those who are part of this project, who have worked with us not only this year but also in the past. I think that all of them are part of this Scudetto and that this Scudetto belongs to all of them. I want to say thank you to them.”

Zhang also reserved thanks to those who had advised him since taking over the club, as well as his father, Suning President Zhang Jindong.

“Thank you not only to the employees of the club, but also to those who believed in me and put in my hands the honour of running this club and also trusted the team to reach this title. A special thanks to my father,” he concluded.
