Inter President Steven Zhang used social media to celebrate the club’s Scudetto success and declared their triumph a message of hope.
Antonio Conte’s side were crowned champions today after Sassuolo held Atalanta to a 1-1 draw, ensuring that Inter cannot be caught at the top of the Serie A table.
After overseeing a first Inter Scudetto since 2010, Zhang used social media platform Weibo to deliver a message to supporters across the globe, proclaiming the title success as an example of continuing in the face of adversity, with Inter continuing to challenge for the title through a season affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.
As reported by Twitter user MarcoZH11, the Suning man posted on Weibo with the caption: “Inter win the Serie A title. We never gave up even at a time when the pandemic was still ongoing! These are the Nerazzurri colours. They bring us hope and light. We can be proud to say, FC Internazionale Milano , we are champions!”
Inter will look to see out their momentous season in style in their four remaining matches, having cruised to a 19th league title.
The triumph also brings to an end a nine-year spell of Juventus dominance, with the Bianconeri’s lengthy run ended with Atalanta’s draw.
