Inter are unlikely to be able to entice full-back Lucas Vazquez to the club this summer after Real Madrid offered him a new contract.

The Spain international, who can operate as a winger or at right-back, is out of contract at the Stadio Santiago Bernabeu this summer and appeared destined to depart on a free transfer after rejecting a new deal earlier this year.

However, as reported in today’s newspaper edition of Spanish outlet AS, the La Liga champions are ready to submit improved terms in a bid to keep Vazquez, and will offer him an increased salary of €5m per season for three years, with the option of a fourth.

Vazquez has always been keen to remain with his boyhood club but was determined to be more valued, after initially being offered a contract that would have seen his salary reduced.

According to FCInter1908.it, it does not bode well for Inter’s hopes of being able to bring him to Serie A, with the Nerazzurri unlikely to be able to match Real Madrid’s offer, whilst also facing competition from Bayern Munich and Paris Saint-Germain.
