Christian Eriksen has been a pivotal figure in Inter’s ascent to the Serie A title and proved his influence once more against Crotone, Italian journalist Fabrizio Biasin argues.

The Denmark international joined the Nerazzurri from Tottenham Hotspur in January 2020 but failed to make an impact in his first year in Italy, before forcing his way into coach Antonio Conte’s plans after Christmas.

Having been benched for the trip to the Stadio Ezio Scida yesterday, Eriksen entered the fray in the second half and broke the deadlock with a deflected effort, as Inter eventually secured a 2-0 win to take them to the verge of the Scudetto.

Taking to Twitter, Biasin claimed that focus should not be on the way Eriksen plays, but rather the way in which the former Ajax midfielder made Inter as a team play, with the Nerazzurri more threatening with him on the pitch.

“The question is not ‘how does Eriksen play’, but instead ‘how do Inter play with Eriksen on the pitch’. It has been this way since January,” Biasin tweeted.
