Inter midfielder Nicolo Barella stood out as the best player on the pitch during Inter’s 2-0 win over Crotone yesterday, according to Italian media.

The Nerazzurri moved to within a point of the Scudetto as they condemned their hosts to relegation at the Stadio Ezio Scida, courtesy of second half goals from Christian Eriksen and Achraf Hakimi.

As reported in today’s newspaper edition of Corriere della Sera, Barella made Inter tick and was awarded a 7.5 in their player ratings, the highest mark amongst Nerazzurri players.

The former Cagliari midfielder was praised for overcoming a nervous start to dictate play in the middle and provide dangerous passes for his teammates, whilst also remaining strong in the tackle.

Goalscorer Eriksen was awarded a 7 after coming off the bench to fire home the opener, whilst the rest of the team earned a 6 or 6.5, aside from Matteo Darmian.

The wing-back disappointed after being named in the starting line-up and scored the lowest rating at 5.5, having been withdrawn in the second half.

Nerazzurri coach Antonio Conte, meanwhile, was awarded a 7 after making his impact on the match and the season as a whole, with the tactician leaving nothing to chance and now set to be rewarded with the Scudetto.
