Alessandro Bastoni is not about to leave Inter anytime soon, according to the defender’s agent.

Bastoni was one of the key architects of the Nerazzurri’s Serie A title triumph, which was confirmed yesterday after Atalanta were held to a 1-1 draw at Sassuolo.

The 22-year-old is reportedly one of Inter’s unsellable players ahead of the summer transfer window, and it would appear he has no intention to chase a move away from the club either.

Speaking to Calciomercato.it today, Bastoni’s agent Tulio Tinti said: “I’ve already reached an agreement with Beppe Marotta and Piero Ausilio for a contract extension, we agreed that a while ago.

“Now we’re waiting for a response from Inter’s owners (Suning) but the player wants to stay at Inter, it’s the team he supports as well.

“The agreement hasn’t been finalised because the owners have been absent up until now, but the president Zhang has come back to Milan to clarify everything.”

Bastoni has made 38 appearances in all competitions for Inter this season, providing four assists, and is currently under contract with the club until 2023.

Asked how important Antonio Conte had been for the centre-back’s development, Tinti argued: “He’s been extremely important and deserves lots of credit.

“Conte is responsible for Inter’s growth as a club though, he’s been a leader.

“He said he wanted to keep Bastoni at Inter after his loan spell at Parma because he had a lot of faith in the player.”

Tinti also manages Matteo Darmian and sung the praises of the 31-year-old, who has enjoyed a fantastic first season at Inter after his move from Parma.

“Matteo’s problem is that he’s Italian… we always look at foreigners in Italy and he’s been underestimated,” he added.

“Personally I’d want 100 players like him, he’s always optimistic and smiling.

“Darmian always does his bit on the pitch.”

Tinti then offered his congratulations to another of his clients at Inter, Andrea Ranocchia, the only player who is still with the Nerazzurri from the last time they won a trophy (the 2011 Coppa Italia).

“He could have left in January, but he wanted to stay because he was convinced he could win his first scudetto after 10 years at the club,” he revealed.

“Conte wanted Ranocchia to stay as well.”
