Antonio Conte will be unable to contain his joy after taking Inter to the Serie A title, according to a report in the Italian media today.
Gazzetta dello Sport’s print edition said Conte would be enjoying this success ‘a lot more’ than he enjoyed Juventus winning Serie A on 5 May in 2002, when the Bianconeri overtook Inter on the final day.
Conte has ended Juventus’ dominance which lasted 3,283 days, with Inter’s title described as ‘an historic achievement’ because of how long the Old Lady had been on top.
Inter have begun a new era by winning this scudetto, according to the report, because it has come under foreign ownership in Suning.
Steven Zhang received credit for his role in the title, with the Milan-based paper highlighting that he was the one who chose to bring Conte and Beppe Marotta to Inter a few years ago.
Suning were also praised for having invested a lot of money into Inter, who won the title in ‘the most absurd season of all’ due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
