Antonio Conte has turned Inter back into a proud and credible club, a report in the Italian media argued today.
Corriere della Sera’s print edition named Conte as the key architect of Inter’s Serie A title triumph, which was confirmed yesterday with four games to spare.
Conte was the ‘flame thrower’ identified by chief executive Beppe Marotta as necessary in order to win things again and he has not disappointed.
Inter’s head coach ‘dismantled the club and rebuilt the skyscraper’, the Milan-based paper argued, establishing himself as a cornerstone for the Nerazzurri in the process.
Conte has restored pride and credibility to Inter both in Italy and in Europe, the report continued.
His victory of the Serie A title is only the beginning, too, having brought Inter’s fans back out into the streets with pride by ‘releasing them from a nightmare’.
Conte has been his usual intense self during his two seasons at Inter, but he hasn’t changed as a person and he hasn’t let anyone get away with anything under his watch.
He has transformed the mentality among Inter’s players and been very demanding with owners Suning, calling them out on numerous occasions in public to up their game.
Most importantly, Conte has ended Juventus’ dominance which lasted nine-years after successfully isolating the squad from all the off-field problems which circulated earlier this year.
He became a reference point for everyone at Inter and his title triumph confirms his status as a coach who builds teams and then wins with them.
Conte pushes everyone to the limit, CdS argued, but his secret is making sure that he always has the full backing of the dressing room.
