Inter have moved back ahead of AC Milan in the all-time Serie A title charts, a report in the Italian media highlighted today.

Gazzetta dello Sport’s print edition noted that during the post-war era, the city of Milan had never previously gone 10 years without either of its clubs winning the scudetto.

AC Milan had drawn level with Inter on 18 titles back in 2011, when Massimiliano Allegri secured the scudetto for the Rossoneri in the first season after Inter’s treble.

Inter are now back on top though, having secured their 19th title yesterday when Atalanta were held to a 1-1 draw at Sassuolo.

Steven Zhang has enabled the Nerazzurri to move back above their city rivals and now Inter’s challenge is to secure a second star, which they would earn by winning a 20th Serie A title.

Before that, Antonio Conte’s side have four games left against Sampdoria, Roma, Juventus and Udinese to round out the 2021-22 season.
