Marcelo Brozovic is not certain to stay at Inter for next season, according to a report in the Italian media today.

Gazzetta dello Sport’s print edition said there was no sign of Inter opening talks to extend the midfielder’s contract, which expires in 2022.

The Nerazzurri could consider selling Brozovic if they were to receive a ‘serious offer’, albeit the report didn’t specify what that would be.

Brozovic has made 39 appearances for Inter this season and was described by Beppe Bergomi today as a pivotal player in their Serie A title triumph.

Inter are set for arguably their most difficult transfer window in recent memory given the club’s ongoing financial problems, the report warned.

The club’s directors will need to prioritise selling players, raising funds and reducing their wage bill, exactly like every other top club this summer.

Aleksandar Kolarov and Ashley Young are certain to leave when their contracts expire at the end of the season, while Andrea Ranocchia is still reflecting on the idea of renewing his deal.

Arturo Vidal and Alexis Sanchez could be offloaded as well because of their high salaries, although the forward is said to have more interest than the midfielder (who doesn’t want to consider an exit yet).

Andrea Pinamonti and Andrei Radu will also leave Inter in search of greater game time.
