Inter’s Serie A title triumph is expected to earn the club an extra €40 million, a report in the Italian media explained today.
The Nerazzurri secured their 19th Scudetto with four games to spare on Sunday, after they beat Crotone and Atalanta were held to a draw by Sassuolo.
Tuttosport’s print edition said Inter would receive €23.4 million alone from Serie A’s TV rights agreement for finishing first, with another €10 million expected from the UEFA Champions League market pool.
They will also earn €5 million from their various sponsorship agreements and €1 million from playing the Supercoppa Italiana – although that figure will rise to €3.4 million if the match is held in Saudi Arabia.
Despite Inter’s imminent revenue, the Turin-based paper warned that not all of this would remain in the club’s accounts due to several bonus payments they will owe.
Inter will have to pay some of that money to other clubs, the report explained, because most transfer agreements include bonuses clauses related to players winning trophies with the club.
The Nerazzurri could also be forced to pay out Scudetto bonus payments to their players as per their contracts – but a report last week revealed Inter’s players had agree to waive these in order to help owners Suning.
