Lautaro Martinez remains emotional three days on from securing the Serie A title with Inter.

The Nerazzurri were confirmed as champions on Sunday for the first time since 2010, after they beat Crotone and Atalanta were held to a draw away at Sassuolo.

Inter put on a special event at Appiano Gentile tonight to celebrate the scudetto with their players, having cracked open the champagne during training earlier.

Speaking to Inter TV upon his arrival, Lautaro said: “It was a big emotion to win the title.

“I celebrated with my family at home and on a video call with my parents in Argentina, they were very happy too.

“This title is for everyone, because we worked together and we’ve improved a lot during training this season.

“We’re happy because we managed to win a difficult scudetto, it was a long season.

“The first person to write in our WhatsApp chat after Sassuolo-Atalanta finished was Stefano Sensi.”

Lautaro has set a new personal record for single goals in a Serie A campaign this season (15), underlining his increasing importance to Antonio Conte’s side.

He made a bet that he’d get a tattoo if Inter won the scudetto and was asked about this promise, assuring: “I’ll do it this week or next week.”

His strike partner Romelu Lukaku also turned up at the party and admitted he was ‘lost for words’, having acted as a talisman for his teammates throughout the campaign.

Inter will round out their Serie A campaign with four more fixtures against Sampdoria (on Saturday), Roma, Juventus and Udinese.
