Christian Eriksen’s future at Inter remains in doubt, according to a report in the Italian media today.

The Danish midfielder has turned his career with the Nerazzurri upside down since the end of January, having finally nailed down a spot in Antonio Conte’s midfield.

However, this might not be enough to guarantee Eriksen stays with Inter next season, as the club are reportedly set to make a sacrifice in the summer transfer window.

Corriere dello Sport’s print edition said Inter would need to sell ‘at least one key player’ in order to balance their books, despite their imminent agreement for a €250-270 million loan with a US-based group.

Eriksen could be a prime candidate for this because of his hefty salary, with Inter needing to reduce their wage bill before next season.

Inter would reinvest the money they collected from any sale and do not have any intention of selling players on the cheap, the Rome-based paper assured.

Romelu Lukaku and Lautaro Martinez are being linked with moves away from the club but the Nerazzurri are said to not be worried about those rumours.
