Steven Zhang is still struggling to come to terms with being a Serie A champion at Inter.
The Nerazzurri clinched their 19th league title on Sunday after they beat Crotone and Atalanta were held to a draw away at Sassuolo.
Zhang visited Inter’s players as training resumed at Appiano Gentile yesterday and joined in a series of wild celebrations, having become the club’s youngest ever president to win the scudetto.
As reported by FcInter1908.it, Zhang told Inter’s players: “You’ve written a page of Inter’s history.
“You’ve done something historic and beautiful for this club, you’re special.
“Now let’s enjoy this month.
“I still can’t believe it, it feels like I’m living a dream.”
Zhang was visibly emotional as he spoke to Antonio Conte and the Nerazzurri squad, before returning to Milan to get back to work.
Inter’s president has several issues to sort out following his long-awaited return to Italy, most notably the financing deal which will ease the club’s short-term financial concerns.
Zhang is in talks with Oaktree Capital over a deal worth almost €300 million, according to a report this morning, although Bain Capital remain in contention as well.
