Inter fans have no reason to worry about Lautaro Martinez’s ongoing contract situation, according to a report in the Italian media today.

As per Gazzetta dello Sport’s print edition, sporting director Piero Ausilio hinted yesterday that the Nerazzurri could be hampered in their bid to extend El Toro’s contract after the striker decided to change agent.

Lautaro did not leave his previous representatives on good terms and is involved in a legal battle which could last for some time, but this is not expected to cause Inter any problems.

The Nerazzurri won’t have problems with finalising a new deal, the Milan-based paper assured, which should see Lautaro sign on for another three years (until 2024) with an annual salary worth €4.5 million plus bonuses after tax.

Inter had practically reached an agreement with Lautaro’s previous agents, which also involved the 23-year-old’s €111 million release clause being removed.

There are two reasons to be confident that Lautaro will still sign a renewal though, following his switch to Alejandro Camano (who also manages Achraf Hakimi).

Firstly, Inter remain determined to extend the striker’s deal – as Ausilio explained – and will meet Camano soon to continue negotiations.

Secondly, the fact Inter are discussing a contract now and not waiting until the end of the summer shows they are not considering the idea of selling the player.

Inter are not expected to move too far from the above offer when they proceed talks with Camano, who became Lautaro’s agent last month.
