Inter have their work cut out if they want to sign Rodrigo de Paul from Udinese, according to a report in the Italian media.

As per FcInterNews.it, the Nerazzurri are one of three clubs, along with AC Milan and Liverpool, to have made an enquiry with the midfielder’s new agent Mino Raiola.

Antonio Conte wasn’t entirely convinced by De Paul last summer, but the 26-year-old has since produced another excellent season in Udine and proven he could be a perfect fit for Inter’s midfield.

However, Udinese are not budging from their €40 million asking price and they want it all in cash, which makes a deal very difficult for Inter.

De Paul’s future is unlikely to be sorted in short order, the report explained, but Udinese will probably need to lower their demands if he really is to leave.

Inter remain with a ‘concrete’ interest but it is clear they cannot spend that much on De Paul during a time of financial austerity for the club.

De Paul has scored eight goals and provided 10 assists in all competitions for Udinese this season.
