Inter striker Lautaro Martinez has emerged as a transfer target for Real Madrid and the Spanish champions will look to secure a discount.
According to Calciomercato.com, the Argentina international has appeared on Real Madrid’s radar as they seek a new forward and they will hope to take advantage of Inter’s financial uncertainty to land the 23-year-old.
The Nerazzurri are keen to retain Martinez and are holding out for at least €90 million for the former Racing Club striker, but Real Madrid may take advantage of the sale of Achraf Hakimi to the Italian club last summer to negotiate a discount.
Hakimi moved in a €45m deal but Inter have thus far only paid one instalment of €15m, prompting Real Madrid to propose using the outstanding €30m to bring the cost of Martinez down instead of taking payment.
Negotiations are still in their early stages and Martinez’s new agent, Alejandro Camano, is working with all parties with a view to a deal.
