Inter coach Antonio Conte will rest striker Romelu Lukaku for today’s Serie A match against Sampdoria, affording Alexis Sanchez a starting berth.
As reported in today’s newspaper edition of Tuttosport, last weekend’s Scudetto success has given Conte the freedom to allow some of his lesser utilised players an opportunity to impress and he will make changes to the team that beat Crotone 2-0 last time out.
Chile international Sanchez will partner Lautaro Martinez up front to allow Lukaku a break from action, whilst Ashley Young will return to the team at left wing-back, replacing Ivan Perisic.
There is also likely to be changes in defence, with Italian duo Andrea Ranocchia and Danilo D’Ambrosio coming in to take the places of Stefan De Vrij and Milan Skriniar respectively.
The match at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza will also see an overhaul of the midfield, with Christian Eriksen returning to the starting line-up and being joined by Matias Vecino. The trio will be completed by one of Roberto Gagliardini or Stefano Sensi, with the former leading the race.
