With thousands of fans expected to meet at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza this afternoon, local authorities have implemented security measures for Inter’s match against Sampdoria in Serie A.

The Nerazzurri were crowned champions last weekend and fans took to the streets of Milan to celebrate a first title since 2010, and are expected to continue this ahead of Inter’s clash against the Blucerchiati today.

As reported in today’s newspaper edition of La Gazzetta dello Sport, access to the surrounding area of the stadium will be controlled by police and consumption of alcohol will be prohibited between 14:00 and 22:00 CET.

The local authority has also created a controlled space for 3000 fans to gather and welcome the team to the stadium, but larger groups are expected.

Mayor of Milan Beppe Sala earlier asked fans to celebrate the Scudetto success with caution as the city continues it’s battle against the spread of COVID-19, but there is a suggestion that groups will also gather at the Arco dello Pace.
