Inter midfielder Stefano Sensi could be set to retain his place in the starting line-up for today’s match against Sampdoria, despite competition from Roberto Gagliardini.

The Nerazzurri feature for the first time since being crowned Serie A champions last Sunday and coach Antonio Conte is ready to make changes to afford lesser used players an opportunity to impress.

As reported in today’s newspaper edition of Corriere dello Sport, Italian international Sensi is in line to keep his position in midfield after starting against Crotone last time out.

The former Sassuolo player had seen his position under threat from Roberto Gagliardini but Conte is expected to keep him, alongside Christian Eriksen and Matias Vecino.

Striker Romelu Lukaku is expected to be rested and replaced by Alexis Sanchez, whilst Ashley Young will step in at left wing-back in place of Ivan Perisic.

Conte is also expected to make changes in defence, with Danilo D’Ambrosio and Andrea Ranocchia set to replace Milan Skriniar and Stefan De Vrij respectively.
