After scoring a first-half brace in the 5-1 win over Sampdoria yesterday, Inter forward Alexis Sanchez added to his prolific record as a starter for the club.

As reported in today’s newspaper edition of La Gazzetta dello Sport, whilst the Chile international has often served as back-up to Romelu Lukaku and Lautaro Martinez, he has regularly made an impact when given a starting spot by Antonio Conte.

The former Arsenal forward replaced Lukaku in the team yesterday and struck twice to take his tally of goals from 21 starts to nine, whilst he has also provided 11 assists in those games.

However, Sanchez has been tipped as a possible option to be sacrificed by Inter in the summer as they look to sell high-earning players and balance the books.

The dire financial situation at the club may necessitate offloading those who do not start regularly, although the newspaper questioned the wisdom of losing a player who has provided such an impact.

Sanchez joined Inter from Manchester United in 2019 and has scored 11 goals in 68 appearances.
