Inter owners Suning are facing growing turmoil at the club with players unhappy at being asked to defer wages and difficulty finding a new sponsor.

The Nerazzurri have enjoyed success on the pitch and followed up last weekend’s Scudetto triumph with a 5-1 thrashing of Sampdoria at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza in Serie A yesterday.

However, as reported in today’s newspaper edition of Corriere dello Sport, uncertainty is growing behind the scenes as Suning battle financial problems.

The Chinese retail firm have little appetite to invest in the squad over the summer and are set to ask the team to defer wages again to assist with cashflow, but this has angered a group of players who are unwilling to give up payment after delivering the Scudetto.

There is also a fear that one high-profile player must be sold this summer in order to balance the books, whilst coach Antonio Conte will see little opportunity to strengthen his squad.

Commercially, Suning are struggling to find a new kit sponsor to replace Pirelli and are focusing on the US market after turning away from China.

A proposed loan from a potential investor has yet to be completed and funds are required to bridge a gap before the end of the season.
