Midfielder Roberto Gagliardini and forward Alexis Sanchez were the best players on the pitch as Inter beat Sampdoria 5-1 yesterday, according to Italian media.
Having secured the Scudetto last weekend, coach Antonio Conte made numerous changes to his starting line-up but saw his team thrash the Blucerchiati 5-1 at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza.
As reported in today’s newspaper edition of La Gazzetta dello Sport, Chile international Sanchez was in the frame for man-of-the-match after scoring a first half brace, and was awarded a 7.5 in their player ratings.
Gagliardini, meanwhile, opened the scoring and provided an assist for Sanchez as he enjoyed a fine afternoon against Claudio Ranieri’s side, earning an equal rating.
Wing-backs Achraf Hakimi and Ashley Young also impressed and both were awarded a 7, alongside striker Lautaro Martinez as he netted the fifth from the penalty spot.
Andrea Ranocchia, Alessandro Bastoni, Matias Vecino, Nicolo Barella, and Andrea Pinamonti were all rated at a 6.5 after positive performances, whilst Andrei Radu, Danilo D’Ambrosio, Christian Eriksen, Marcelo Brozovic, and Stefano Sensi earned a 6.
The only disappointing display came from goalkeeper Samir Handanovic after an error in the build up to Keita Balde’s goal for Sampdoria, and the captain was given a 5.
