Antonio Conte is waiting to discover Inter’s transfer prospects before committing his future to the club, according to a report in Italy today.
Corriere dello Sport’s print edition said Conte would not give Suning a definitive response before he knows what sacrifices Inter will need to make in terms of player sales.
Inter would love to keep hold of their big players by selling off those who aren’t considered crucial and are on high wages, such as Alexis Sanchez, Arturo Vidal, Matias Vecino and Christian Eriksen.
However, those at the club know they will probably only receive offers for their stars: Romelu Lukaku, Nicolo Barella, Alessandro Bastoni, Lautaro Martinez, Achraf Hakimi, Stefan de Vrij, Milan Skriniar and Marcelo Brozovic.
Conte wants to understand everything with more clarity before making a decision on his future, and the same is said to apply to Inter’s directors.
The Rome-based paper warned there was ‘a high risk’ of having to rebuild Inter’s team ahead of next season, where they will be aiming to defend their first Serie A title in 11 years.
