Antonio Conte will meet with Inter to discuss his future at the club next week, according to a report in the Italian media today.

As per Tuttosport’s print edition, Conte wants to focus first on Inter’s upcoming matches against Roma and Juventus, both of which are important to him for different reasons.

Inter’s match with the Giallorossi will be Conte’s 100th in charge of the club, while the Derby d’Italia will give the Nerazzurri a chance to knock Juventus out of the UEFA Champions League race.

Conte also has an element of personal pride at stake against his former club, especially after the tensions which arose during Inter’s last trip to the Allianz Stadium back in February.

Inter’s boss has remained tight-lipped on his future so far whenever he has been asked to commit to the club, the Turin-based paper explained.

Conte has hinted he would like to stay with the Nerazzurri, but he doesn’t want to go through another season like this one with never-ending off-field distractions.

He won’t ask for a repeat of the 2019 transfer window, where Inter signed the likes of Romelu Lukaku and Nicolo Barella in big-money transfers, but he at least wants reassurance that Inter’s starting XI won’t be dismantled too much in the summer.

Conte could reportedly agree to let Arturo Vidal and Alexis Sanchez leave, with the Chilean pair earning €6.5 million and €7 million per year respectively, as long as Inter secure adequate replacements.

Steven Zhang will aim to reach an agreement with Conte when they meet for talks and if that happens then there will be no problems with continuing together.

If they cannot find an agreement then ‘anything could happen’, with the possibility that Beppe Marotta, Piero Ausilio and Lele Oriali – all of whom are out of contract in 2022, like Conte – adecide to follow Conte out of the club.
