Antonio Conte will agree to stay at Inter for next season on one condition, according to a report in the Italian media today.
As per Corriere della Sera’s print edition, Conte will meet Inter president Steven Zhang this week, along with the club’s directors, to discuss his future.
Inter’s head coach wants reassurance that his title-winning team won’t be dismantled in a bid to balance the books, while he is also seeking greater clarity over their objectives for next season.
Inter will need to make ‘an important sale’ in the summer transfer window, the report claimed, and the two most requested players at the moment are Lautaro Martinez and Alessandro Bastoni.
Lautaro and Bastoni are both young players who could guarantee Inter a healthy capital gain, although both are known to be close to agreeing new contracts.
Conte will remain at Inter if he can receive the reassurance he wants, otherwise he will part company with the club after two years in charge.
