Matias Vecino is highly unlikely to be at Inter next season, according to a report in the Italian media today.

As per Gazzetta.it, the midfielder’s future is ‘already written’ and he will be placed on the transfer market ahead of the summer window.

Vecino is not part of Inter’s plans and will therefore have just three more chances to play for the club, before this season ends.

The 29-year-old will leave with two important memories, or rather the goals against Lazio and Tottenham Hotspur as Inter returned to the UEFA Champions League after a six-year absence.

Vecino played the full 90 minutes on Saturday as Inter defeated Sampdoria 5-1 at San Siro, in their first game since Antonio Conte’s side were confirmed as Serie A champions.

The Uruguay international has made 101 appearances since joining from Fiorentina in 2017, scoring 11 goals and providing six assists in all competitions.

He has missed most of this season after undergoing knee surgery last summer.
