Former Inter full-back Andreas Brehme took to Social Media to pay tribute to ex-Nerazzurri captain Giacinto Facchetti and reveal the influence he had on him.

Facchetti spent his entire career at Inter and the left-back won four Serie A titles and two European Cups, as he made 629 appearances between 1960 and 1978.

The ex-Nerazzurri captain passed away in 2006 and former Germany star Brehme used his Instagram account to remember the legacy of Facchetti, as well as how he shaped his own career.

“I have always admired Giacinto Facchetti and his style of play. He was one of the first left backs, who interpreted his position as an offensive wing back and have influenced an entire generation of players. A one-club-player, Facchetti played his entire career at Inter. Due to his natural born leadership he captained Inter and the Italian national team. A true legend,” Brehme posted.
