Inter are prepared to cut their losses on Arturo Vidal and let him join Marseille for free, according to a report in the French media today.

France Football (via FcInterNews.it) said Vidal had already spoken to Marseille boss Jorge Sampaoli about a reunion in Ligue 1, having already worked together with the Chilean national team.

Inter are ready to let Vidal leave without a transfer fee, as the Nerazzurri seek to cut costs wherever possible to reduce their financial woes.

Vidal would need to lower his wage demands if he were to join Marseille, the report added.

Antonio Conte wanted Vidal at all costs from Barcelona last summer, but the midfielder has failed to repay the faith shown in him since joining Inter.

The 33-year-old has not featured for the Nerazzurri since undergoing knee surgery two months ago, and time is running out for him to make an appearance before the end of the season.
