Inter’s Uruguayan international midfielder Matias Vecino was happy to be back on the scoresheet he told an Italian broadcaster after the first 45 minutes against Roma.

The former Fiorentina midfielder underlined how happy he was to be back fit playing and scoring again after behind sidelined for almost the entire season following a knee surgery.

“I hadn’t scored for a long time because I hadn’t played. I am happy because I am back at 100% and it is important for me to get minutes in the end of the season to make me feel important after everything I have gone through.

“It was difficult for me during the period I was out because you don’t feel useful to your teammates who are fighting to do something important. Then things changed when I returned back to the group.”

Inter lead Roma 2-1 after the first half after goals from Marcelo Brozovic and Matias Vecino and a goal from Henrikh Mkhitaryan.
