Achraf Hakimi wants his Inter teammates to keep showing why they are Serie A champions after tonight’s 3-1 win against Roma.
The Nerazzurri collected their 15th straight home victory in the league thanks to goals from Marcelo Brozovic, Matias Vecino and Romelu Lukaku.
Henrikh Mkhitaryan halved the deficit midway through the first half for Roma, but Paulo Fonseca’s side were unable to find an equaliser before Lukaku finished the job in the final minute.
“I’m very happy for this win and the work we’re doing,” Hakimi, who assisted the Belgian’s 90th-minute goal on the counterattack, told Inter TV.
“Like the coach says, we need to always enjoy winning and so we must continue like this.
“We need to keep doing what we’ve done throughout the season, showing to everyone why we’re the champions of Italy.”
Inter have two games left to finish the season and the first fixture pits them against Juventus in the Derby d’Italia.
Antonio Conte’s side only have pride to play for but Hakimi is determined to treat Inter’s fans with another win against their arch rivals.
“We must recover and then think about the next game,” the 22-year-old added.
“It will be difficult but it’s a great game to play for all of our fans and all our people who want to win it, because it’s a very important match.”
Inter remain 13 points clear of Atalanta and AC Milan at the top of the table after both sides won their midweek matches.
