Inter have officially announced their new club anthem ahead of tonight’s match at home to Roma.
The Nerazzurri have unveiled I M Inter (Yes I M) as ‘the song for the Scudetto’, written by Inter fan Max Pezzali with Claudio Cecchetto and Mirko Mengozzi.
As per a statement on Inter’s website, the club believe this is the ideal soundtrack to celebrate their 19th league title, which was wrapped up two weekends ago with four games to spare.
The Nerazzurri explained: “One single shout: Yes, I M Inter!
“An exclamation that fully expresses our sense of belonging to the Nerazzurri colours, which can now join with the joy of shouting: we are who we are and we are Champions of Italy!
“I M INTER (Yes I M) is the ideal soundtrack to go along with celebrating this Nerazzurri achievement, which has culminated in the Club’s 19th Scudetto.
“Yes, IM INTER is the chorus that will delight and enthuse Nerazzurri fans from Wednesday 12 May.
“It’s a declaration of choice (Yes), a proud and recognisable chorus (I M INTER), accompanied by quotes that sum up this message, like Gianfelice Facchetti’s immortal words for the Nerazzurri’s Centenary: “It was the evening of 9 March 1908, there were little more than 40 people there, now we are millions”.
Inter have been using ‘C’e solo l’Inter’ since Antonio Conte’s arrival as head coach, which was preceded by ‘Pazza Inter’ for many years at San Siro.
The song is available immediately and was already leaked on social media last week, receiving a generally positive response from Inter’s fans.
The Nerazzurri have included a link at the bottom of their announcement which allows supporters to listen to Pezzali and Cecchetto’s track.
