Antonio Conte is ‘unsettling’ Inter fans and heightening doubts over his future by dodging questions from the media, according to a report in Italy today.

Corriere della Sera’s print edition said Conte had skipped his post-match duties after Inter beat Roma because he did not want to discuss the Nerazzurri’s off-field problems, including Suning’s request for players to take wage cuts.

Conte knows these issues do not regard him and it should be Inter president Steven Zhang who answers the questions, having yet to provide clarity on the club’s future.

Zhang is busy trying to secure a €250 million loan deal to ease Inter’s financial woes, but in the meantime Conte’s media silence is ‘speaking more than a thousand words and starting to become very loud’.

Conte will visit his former club Juventus on Saturday for the fourth Derby d’Italia of the season, and the Milan-based paper suggested that might be the moment for him to start talking with the press again.

Inter are still not being affected on the pitch by the club’s problems, producing another fine display to see off Roma 3-1 at San Siro.
