Andrei Radu was overcome with emotion after making his first senior start for Inter in their 3-1 win over Roma.

Antonio Conte named the Romanian goalkeeper in his starting XI on Wednesday for the first time all season, having brought him on for the second half of last weekend’s match against Sampdoria.

Radu was unable to keep a clean sheet after Henrikh Mkhitaryan scored during the first half, but Inter picked up all three points nonetheless with goals from Marcelo Brozovic, Matias Vecino and Romelu Lukaku.

“It’s a feeling that I struggle to find the words to describe,” Radu, who played the full 90 minutes at San Siro, told Inter TV.

“I’m very proud (to have started for Inter), now I’m focused on working even harder and then we’ll see what happens.

“Like the coach always says, winning helps you to win even more.

“We’re a united group and we’re trying to do everything to keep winning.”

Inter have two matches left before they finish the Serie A season and their next game is away at Juventus, for the fourth and final Derby d’Italia of the campaign.

“It’s a different game to the rest,” Radu argued.

“We need to do what we know best and try to bring home all three points.”

Inter remain 13 points clear at the top of the table after Atalanta and AC Milan both won their respective matches as well.
