Lautaro Martinez has made peace with Antonio Conte and his Inter teammates after last night’s incident against Roma, according to a report in the Italian media today.

As per Gazzetta.it, Lautaro reacted angrily to being substituted with 13 minutes left by kicking a water ball and complaining as he walked past Conte.

Conte initially pretended not to hear while Lele Oriali attempted to calm the striker, but eventually Inter’s boss turned round and told him in no uncertain terms to stop acting like a superstar.

Lautaro has apologised to Conte and his teammates and will make it up to everyone by overseeing a barbecue after training at Appiano Gentile today.

El Toro is aware he made a mistake but the incident is another small sign of the disquiet which is festering at Inter, the Milan-based paper suggested.

Lautaro was due to sign a new three-year deal with the Nerazzurri which would almost double his wages (from €2.5 million annually to €4.5 million plus bonuses), but Inter’s financial problems have brought talks to a halt.

The uncertainty does not help anyone and Inter need Steven Zhang to provide clarity on Suning’s plans, which should arrive once the club have secured their loan deal from either Bain Capital or Oaktree.
