Inter’s wage cut debate is doing nothing to damage team spirit, according to a report in the Italian media today.
As per Gazzetta dello Sport’s print edition, the Nerazzurri’s players, directors and staff have rejected Steven Zhang’s proposal to give up two months’ wages valid for the current season.
Zhang was not caught out by the ‘no’, the report assured, because it was to be expected after such a great season in which Inter got their hands back on the Serie A title.
Inter’s players and staff are irritated with the manner in which the request was made, but the ‘tensions’ are staying out of Appiano Gentile and are not therefore causing unrest in training.
An alternative solution to wage cuts could be to defer the two monthly installments again into next season, the Milan-based paper added.
However, there have been no discussions so far with players about such an arrangement.
