Inter owners Suning are closing on an agreement to secure investment into the club over the coming week and will follow it up with a meeting with coach Antonio Conte.
As reported on Italian television channel Sky Sport Italia today, and via FCInter1908.it, President Steven Zhang has been in negotiations with interested parties to obtain a loan to ease Inter’s financial worries and this is expected to be finalised before the end of next week.
Once this has been processed, Zhang will be in a better position to be able to determine the short terms plans for the club and his priority is to meet with Conte as soon as possible.
After leading the Nerazzurri to their first Scudetto since 2010, the coach is seeking guarantees on how the squad will be managed and if there will be significant sales before committing his future to Inter.
Much will depend on the nature of the investment and how Suning plan to use the funds, with the Chinese conglomerate looking to cut costs at Inter, and this week could be decisive for Conte’s future at the club.
