Romelu Lukaku is yet to miss from the penalty spot since joining Inter in 2019, after firing in the opener in yesterday’s 3-2 defeat to Juventus in the Derby d’Italia.
As highlighted on Inter’s official club website, Lukaku extended his perfect record from the spot at the Allianz Stadium as he scored his 10th penalty since his arrival from Manchester United.
The Belgium international opened the scoring after Matthijs De Ligt was ruled to have trodden on Lautaro Martinez’s heel, resulting in a penalty.
It was Lukaku’s 12th successful spot kick for Inter in Serie A and he has sent the goalkeeper the wrong way every time. Meanwhile, his overall record for the club is 15 goals from 15 attempts, and only once has he failed to fire at the opposite side to where the keeper dived.
The 28-year-old becomes the first player to score all of their first 12 penalties in Serie A since Paulo Dybala for Palermo and Juventus, achieved in 2017.
