Inter put in an underwhelming performance against Juventus in the Derby d’Italia yesterday, with only strikers Romelu Lukaku and Lautaro Martinez playing well, according to Italian media.

As reported in today’s newspaper edition of La Gazzetta dello Sport, a 3-2 defeat at the Allianz Stadium was littered with uncharacteristically poor performances from the Serie A title winners, as they fell to a first league defeat since January.

In their player ratings, the newspaper awarded Martinez as their player of the match for Inter and gave him a 7, with the Argentine commended for his determination and clever movement, and he also saw an acrobatic volley questionably ruled out.

Fellow striker Lukaku also received the same rating after the former Manchester United player took his goal tally for the season in the league to 23 from the penalty spot.

Defenders Milan Skriniar and Stefan De Vrij each earned a 6.5, whilst Samir Handanovic, Alessandro Bastoni, Achraf Hakimi, Matias Vecino, and Christian Eriksen received a 6, as did coach Antonio Conte.

Italian midfielders Stefano Sensi and Nicolo Barella both disappointed and were only granted a 5.5, whilst it was an afternoon to forget for Matteo Darmian, Ivan Perisic, and Marcelo Brozovic, who all were handed a 5. The former two gave away penalties, whilst the latter was sent off late on.
