Referee Gianpaolo Calvarese has come in for stinging criticism for his performance in Inter’s 3-2 defeat to Juventus yesterday by Italian journalist Fabrizio Biasin.
The official awarded a late Juan Cuadrado’s penalty at the Allianz Stadium, in a match littered with controversial incidents, having previously awarded spot kicks to both teams and sending Rodrigo Bentancur and Marcelo Brozovic off.
It left Biasin unimpressed and the journalist took to Twitter to suggest that the referee had got every major call wrong.
“If any decision of Calvarese’s decisions in the 90 minutes had been the opposite, he would have made less mistakes. For the rest he was good,” Biasin tweeted.
Se qualunque decisione di #Calvarese nei 90 minuti fosse stata all’opposto, avrebbe commesso meno errori.
Per il resto è stato bravo.#JuveInter
