Antonio Conte intends to stay at Inter but not at all costs, according to a report in the Italian media today.
Corriere dello Sport’s print edition said Conte wanted to remain the Nerazzurri’s head coach, but he needs a clear plan from Suning about where the club is headed.
Conte does not want to be living by the day and is desperate to avoid a repeat of this season, in which he has had to battle with endless off-field troubles in order to win the Scudetto.
His future is thought to be the key to everything at Inter, because Conte’s decision will reveal a great deal – according to this report – about Suning’s intentions and ambitions for the club.
Conte could potentially agree to stay at Inter even if the Nerazzurri don’t want to target winning the Scudetto again next season, the Rome-based paper claimed.
The important thing is for Suning to make their program clear, starting from Steven Zhang’s meeting with Conte in the coming days.
Conte could meet Zhang for talks after Inter’s last match of the season against Udinese on Sunday, but it cannot be excluded that they hold their talks this week.
