After ensuring survival in Serie A this season, Cagliari are ready to meet with Inter to work on a deal to sign midfielder Radja Nainggolan on a permanent transfer.

The Belgian spent last season on loan in Sardinia and returned to his former club in January, helping them to avoid relegation to Serie B.

According to FCInterNews.it, Cagliari are keen to bring Nainggolan back to the club next season but consider his €6 million valuation to be too steep, and will look at alternatives if the price does not come down.

With only 13 months remaining on the contract he signed when joining from Roma in 2018, another loan move for Nainggolan would not be viable and so Inter are ready to negotiate for a sale.

The 33-year-old has failed to establish himself at Inter under coach Antonio Conte and the Nerazzurri are ready to sell in order to get him off their wage bill, so a meeting with Cagliari could take place by the end of the month.

Nainggolan, meanwhile, is ready to commit his future to Cagliari and would be willing to remain with the Sardinians for the rest of his career, after representing them from 2010 to 2014 before joining Roma.
