Inter have not given up hope of signing Georginio Wijnaldum from Liverpool, according to a report in the Italian media today.

As per Calciomercato.com, Antonio Conte is set to hold talks with Nerazzurri president Steven Zhang this week about his future, and Inter’s transfer plans will be crucial to that.

Conte is not expecting Inter to make big-money signings in the summer, but he wants reassurance that he won’t lose key players and that the club will try and grasp opportunities that arise.

In that sense, Inter are said to still be monitoring Wijnaldum’s situation, with the midfielder set to become a free agent after June 30.

Wijnaldum has made 49 appearances in all competitions for Liverpool this season, scoring three goals for Jurgen Klopp’s side.

He played the final six minutes of yesterday’s 2-1 win at West Brom in the Premier League, where goalkeeper Alisson scored an incredible stoppage-time winner to keep their UEFA Champions League hopes alive.
