Inter’s brand is nearly 20% less valuable now than it was last year, a report from a leading consultancy has revealed.
Brand Finance recently published its annual ‘Football 50’ report which analyses Europe’s clubs and ranks their brands based on a number of criteria.
Inter are 14th in the overall rankings, second only to Juventus (11th) in terms of Serie A, but the Nerazzurri are in a worse position than they were last year.
The club’s brand was worth €466 million in 2020, but it is now valued at just €381 million (a decrease in total of 18%).
Juventus suffered a 16% decrease and the outlook is no rosier for the rest of Serie A, with several clubs taking a huge hit as a result of the financial impact of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Napoli’s brand value has dropped by 26%, down to just €139 million, while AC Milan have suffered a 29% decrease and lost seven positions in the overall rankings.
