Danilo D’Ambrosio is receiving serious interest from Lazio, according to a report in the Italian media today.

As per L’Interista, Inter’s talks with the defender over a new contract have stalled and this has put his future with the Nerazzurri in doubt.

D’Ambrosio is set to become a free agent in the summer and Lazio president Claudio Lotito is sensing the opportunity for a deal to be secured.

The Biancocelesti have made contact with the defender’s entourage and are said to be serious about the idea of signing D’Ambrosio, with TuttoMercatoWeb (via The Laziali) even reporting that talks are at an advanced stage.

D’Ambrosio has made 23 appearances in all competitions for Inter this season, scoring three times en route to the Serie A title.

The 32-year-old was linked with Inter’s city rivals AC Milan earlier this month, but now it seems Lazio have joined the race for the centre-back.

Antonio Conte gave D’Ambrosio starts in Inter’s recent Serie A matches against Sampdoria and Roma, but there is no guarantee he will still be with the Nerazzurri at the start of next season.
