Inter’s loan defender Lorenzo Pirola is attracting interest from SPAL, according to a report in the Italian media today.
Pirola joined Serie B side Monza on a season-long loan last summer and is due to play the first leg of their play-off semi-final at Cittadella tonight.
As per Il Resto del Carlino (via FcInterNews.it), SPAL have begun pursuing the promising centre-back and could seek a deal in the coming weeks.
The report offered no details on whether it would be a loan move or a permanent deal.
Pirola struggled for game time during the first half of this season, but he has nailed down a spot in Monza’s starting XI since February and started 11 of their last 15 league games.
Ironically, he made his only senior appearance for Inter so far in a 4-0 defeat away at SPAL last season, when Antonio Conte brought the now 19-year-old on for the final 10 minutes.
